Adult Figure Skating Lessons in Montclair, NJ
It's never too late to start, rediscover a passion, or finally chase a lifelong goal. At Krigor Studio we celebrate the adult learner, and our adult figure skating lessons are crafted for two kinds of skater: the complete beginner taking a first glide, and the returning skater coming back to the ice after years away.
Skating built for adult life
Held at the Montclair State University Ice Arena, our adult coaching goes well beyond a casual class. Figure skating is a remarkable full-body practice — a blend of low-impact fitness that builds core strength, balance and mobility; the mindful focus of mastering edges and flow; and the genuine satisfaction of measurable progress. For busy professionals, an hour on the ice is also a rare chance to disconnect and recharge.
What you'll work on
We meet you exactly where you are. Beginners build the essentials — balance, gliding, stopping safely, forward and backward edges and the confident three-turn. Returning and intermediate skaters refine flow and footwork, add single jumps and spins, and polish presentation. Every step is taught patiently, with technique that respects an adult body and minimizes risk of injury.
A supportive community
You won't be the only adult on the ice. Our adult skaters form an encouraging community where progress is shared and nobody feels out of place. Coaches understand adult goals and adult schedules, and adjust the pace accordingly.
How to start
Lessons run from 30 minutes and can be private for flexibility or in a small adult group. Tell us your background and what you'd like to achieve, and we'll recommend the best format to begin.
